UK Prime Minister, Gordon Brown, has spoken of the "new and deepening relationship" between the UK and India.

The PM said that the two countries had established a "strategic partnership of equals" and had made progress in a number of shared priorities such as trade and the economy. The Prime Minister announced that deals with a value of £10 billion were in the process of being concluded "for the benefit of both economies". Trade between the UK and India was increasing at a rate of 20 per cent a year, he added.

UK Prime Minister, Gordon Brown has hailed a new level of partnership with China - which he said could create tens of thousands of jobs for British workers.

Mr Brown said he wanted two-way trade with China's booming economy to increase by 50 percent in the next two years, and he wanted to see 100 new Chinese companies investing in the UK by 2010.
